Job Description
Provide peer support using lived experience, build relationships, contribute to groups, promote recovery, and support early intervention psychosis service activities.
Role Overview
- Part-time Peer Support Worker within Esteem early intervention psychosis service (Glasgow City HSCP)
- Use lived experience to inspire hope and recovery
- Contribute to shaping and evaluating the Peer Support Worker role
Key Responsibilities
- Get to know staff, service users, and the Early Intervention model
- Attend groups; build supportive, respectful relationships
- Share personal recovery experiences appropriately to aid others’ recovery
- Support stock-taking of service feedback and ongoing role evaluation
Required Profile
- Personal recovery from mental health issues and experience using mental health services
- Resilience; knows when to seek help
- Warmth, empathy, good listening, clear communication
- Team player with curiosity about others’ experiences
- IT literacy (Microsoft Office/Internet) or willingness to learn
Schedule and Hours
- Part-time: 10 hours per week across two days
- Shift pattern generally 9am–5pm, Monday–Friday; specific days flexible to patient/service needs
- Hours may be adjusted to meet service requirements

- Base at either Gartnavel Hospital or Leverndale Hospital, Glasgow

Pay and Contract Notes
- Salary advertised £24K–£36K per annum (FTE) and pro rata for part-time hours
