Job Description

The Gateman/woman ensures site security, safe vehicle movement, pedestrian safety, and performs general operative duties across construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain site security and safety as a traffic marshal

• Control vehicle movements on-site

• Guide deliveries and visitors safely around the site

• Use communication tools and hand signals to direct drivers

• Communicate via two-way radio regarding deliveries

• Ensure safe entrance and exit routes without traffic disruption

• Ensure pedestrian safety and prevent accidents

• Carry out general operative duties when not stationed at the gate

• Attend all site briefings, forums, and toolbox talks

Key Measures and Targets

• Safely carry out tasks assigned by the site management team

Key Relationships

• Site team and contractors

• Delivery drivers

• Client operations personnel and contractors

• Members of the public, on foot or in vehicles

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Good organizational skills and assertiveness

• CSCS card

• Driving Licence

Desirable Skills

• Previous industry experience

• CPCS Traffic Marshall certification
