Job Description

The Floor and Wall Coverings Operative installs, repairs, and maintains floor and wall finishes, ensuring quality housing standards, tenant satisfaction, and compliance with safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and maintain floor and wall finishes, including wet-room wall boarding

• Assess, inspect, and update records of jobs in repairs, new builds, or contract environments

• Safely operate power tools and plant while following all safety procedures

• Investigate and identify faults, determine root causes, and implement lasting solutions

• Apply elements of other general trades to achieve first-time fix efficiently

• Organise work flexibly and meet deadlines while maintaining quality standards

• Support maintenance of assets to meet statutory, regulatory, and tenancy obligations

• Improve tenant satisfaction and maintain positive landlord-tenant relationships

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Proven experience with all aspects of floor and wall finishes

• Knowledge of repairs, new builds, and maintenance procedures

• Ability to safely use power tools and follow safety protocols

• Strong investigative and problem-solving skills

• Organised, flexible, and deadline-oriented approach

• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle

Working Hours

• 37 hours per week with flexible, agile working arrangements to cover 24/7 services
