Job Description

Provide overnight residential support, safeguarding wellbeing, promoting independence, updating care plans, collaborating with teams, and inspiring recovery through lived compassion.

Role Overview

• Part-time night role supporting young people in residential care
• Work directly with individuals with complex needs linked to life experiences
• Focus on recovery, independence, confidence, and belonging

Key Responsibilities

• Build respectful, empowering relationships; promote achievements
• Support social, emotional, educational, and wellbeing needs
• Encourage domestic tasks to grow self-care and independence
• Update care plans, review reports, and risk assessments (individualised approach)
• Liaise with parents/carers and partner agencies
• Facilitate activities: social, educational, community engagement; join day trips, walks, games, movies

Candidate Requirements

• Understanding of developmental needs and milestones
• Experience working with children/young people and families
• Full UK driving licence (manual)
• Strong communication; build positive relationships with young people and professionals
• Clear written reports; confident verbal presentation
• Calm, objective approach when challenging and in difficult situations
• HNC Social Care and/or SVQ Level 3 (or willingness to undertake)

Schedule and Working Pattern

• Part-time nights (hours/days per rota); role specifies night shifts
• Work location: in-person across Spark of Genius homes in/around Glasgow
• Team-based environment with support on shift
