Job Summary: Training Manager

The London Black Women’s Project (LBWP) is seeking a values-driven Training Manager to spearhead a vital new initiative creating professional pathways for survivors of domestic abuse. In this impactful role, you will design and lead an accredited development programme specifically for ex-service users transitioning into Refuge Case Worker positions. You will join a dedicated, specialist team committed to building a sustainable, skilled refuge workforce through survivor-led and culturally competent empowerment.


Requirements and Skills

  • Designing and delivering an accredited development programme.

  • Leading a 3-month accredited training programme followed by 6 months of supported, on-the-job development.

  • Managing the programme end-to-end.

  • Direct delivery of training alongside specialist partners.

  • Ensuring the programme is trauma-informed, culturally competent, and survivor-led.

  • Combining face-to-face and online learning with structured placements.

  • This post is open only to Black and minoritised (Global Majority) women, in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.


Role Overview

As the Training Manager, you will hold end-to-end responsibility for a three-year funded programme, managing two cohorts annually. Your mission is to facilitate high-quality, trauma-informed learning that blends classroom theory with practical refuge placements. You will work collaboratively with specialist partners to ensure the curriculum is robust and accredited, providing survivors with the tools and confidence to enter safe employment. By overseeing both the initial training phase and the subsequent six months of on-the-job support, you will play a central role in strengthening the workforce and amplifying the voices of Black and minoritised women within the sector.
