Christ the King (CTK) Sixth Forms is offering an elite one-year training pathway for aspiring Teachers of Science, specifically focusing on Physics and Chemistry. Based at CTK Emmanuel—a Catholic Sixth Form of excellence rated “Good with Outstanding features” by Ofsted—this role is designed for passionate graduates or career changers. Through our partnership with the “Outstanding” ITT provider Xavier Teach SouthEast and the Borromeo Training Hub, you will be immersed in a supportive, expert-led environment. This fixed-term contract provides the practical experience and mentorship necessary to achieve Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and become a leader of tomorrow’s scientists.
The Training Pathway

In-School Experience: From day one, you will work as an active teacher within a well-resourced Science department, delivering lessons to ambitious 16–19-year-olds.

Specialist Mentorship: You will be paired with an experienced subject specialist (Physics or Chemistry) trained to guide your pedagogical development.

Borromeo Training Hub: Benefit from high-quality, regional hub training that combines theory with substantial practical classroom experience.

Certification: Successful completion of the one-year programme leads to the award of Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Requirements & Profile

Academic Background: You must hold a relevant degree (e.g., Physics, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related Science discipline).

Passion for Science: A genuine desire to share your expertise in Physics and Chemistry with the next generation.

Commitment: A dedicated approach to a one-year intensive training contract starting August 2026.
