Harte Recruitment are delighted to be representing a long-established independent property specialist based in West Yorkshire.

They are currently seeking a confident Trainee Lettings Negotiator to join their friendly team in Leeds city centre. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with lettings experience who values autonomy, professionalism, and a company culture that prioritises exceptional 

customer service over sales targets.

As Trainee Lettings Negotiator, you’ll play a key role in supporting landlords and matching them with suitable tenants, managing everything from applicant registration to referencing, credit checks, and tenancy progression. This is a mobile, people-facing role where you’ll spend much of your time out of the office conducting property viewings and engaging with clients.

The Package:
• Up to £27,000 basic salary per annum (DOE) + OTE £30000
• Free parking in Leeds city centre
• 20 days annual leave + bank holidays + time off at Christmas (discretionary)
• Monday to Friday 09:00 – 17:00 + 2 Saturdays per month 09:00 – 15:00 with full day off in lieu during the week (flexibility around these Saturday hours and pattern)
• Paid mileage at 45p per mile

The Trainee Lettings Negotiator Role:
• Registering applicant information and understanding individual property requirements
• Arranging and conducting property viewings
• Negotiating tenancy terms with prospective tenants
• Managing the full check-in and check-out process
• Handling daily enquiries from applicants via walk-ins, phone calls, and emails
• Supporting marketing initiatives and ensuring all promotional materials align with brand standards
• Promoting additional services to existing tenants where appropriate
• Working closely with the maintenance team to ensure timely and efficient resolution of repair issues
• Complying with all HR policies and procedures

The Person:
• Experience in customer service and lettings (essential)
• Strong organisational abilities with attention to detail
• Confident communicator, able to engage effectively at all levels
• Proficient in IT applications, including Microsoft Excel
• Full driving licence and access to own vehicle (essential)
