Trainee Commercial Insurance Broker / Account Handler
The Opportunity Cryer Baker Recruitment is partnering with a prominent, high-volume insurance brokerage to fill multiple entry-level openings in West London. This role is a strategic entry point for individuals currently working in Personal Lines , Claims , Underwriting , or Insurance Call Centers who want to transition into the technically complex and relationship-oriented world of Commercial Brokerage .
The Role Unlike many entry-level brokerage roles, this is not a sales-focused position . You will be an Account Handler , focusing on the retention and management of an existing portfolio of SME (Small to Medium Enterprise) clients. You will manage policies for businesses with annual premium spends of up to £10,000 , ensuring their coverage remains accurate, competitive, and compliant.
Key Accountabilities:

Portfolio Management: Serving as the primary point of contact for a diverse range of SME clients, handling renewals and mid-term adjustments (MTAs).

Technical Processing: Utilizing the Acturis system—the industry-leading software for commercial brokers—to manage the end-to-end insurance lifecycle.

Product Expertise: Advising on SME Package Policies (simplified bundles for standard risks) and Commercial Combined Policies (tailored, comprehensive coverage for complex business needs).
