A leading retirement house builder is looking for a skilled and safety-conscious Tower Crane Driver to join a long-term residential project in Staplehurst. This is a permanent opportunity to work with one of the industry’s most respected developers, known for high-quality builds and an excellent employee culture. As the “eye in the sky” for the site, you will play a critical role in the structural phase of the project, ensuring materials are moved efficiently while upholding the highest standards of site safety.


Key Responsibilities

  • Precision Operation: Operate a tower crane to lift, move, and position heavy building materials and machinery across the site.

  • Safety Leadership: Ensure all lifting operations comply with site-specific safety regulations and lifting plans.

  • Maintenance & Inspection: Conduct daily and weekly maintenance checks on the crane to ensure mechanical integrity and safe operation.

  • Team Coordination: Work closely with the Banksman and Slinger Signaller via radio communication to execute lifts with 100% accuracy.

  • Environmental Awareness: Monitor weather conditions (specifically wind speeds) to determine safe operating windows.


Requirements and Skills

  • Licensing: Must possess a valid CPCS or NPORS Tower Crane Driving License.

  • Experience: Proven experience operating tower cranes on busy construction sites, ideally within the residential sector.

  • Safety Knowledge: Deep understanding of current health and safety regulations (LOLER and BS 7121).

  • Technical Literacy: Ability to interpret load charts and understand the crane’s technical limits.

  • Reliability: Strong work ethic and punctuality, essential for maintaining site timelines.
