About the Role
As an IT Test Analyst, you will be responsible for the end-to-end testing of new and existing products within the DVSA’s IT portfolio. You won’t just be following scripts; you will be writing them in Zephyr Scale, executing regression packs, and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure that “Continuous Improvement” is a reality, not just a buzzword. You will play a key role in the Change Approval process, ensuring that every deployment has a solid rollback plan and that performance improvements are verified before they reach the public or our internal users.
Key Responsibilities

Test Execution: Writing and executing comprehensive test scripts within Zephyr Scale for hardware and software updates.

Assurance & Testing: Identifying key user groups to carry out testing, collating evidence to support findings, and escalating concerns to the Testing Manager.

Stakeholder Engagement: Providing daily advice and guidance to stakeholders to ensure testing practices are followed and deployment impacts are understood.

Reporting: Producing detailed reports on progress, anomalies, risks, and issues throughout the project lifecycle.

Service Management: Supporting Active Directory and Azure administration activities as part of the wider User Services function.

Quality Control: Ensuring all changes adhere to standard testing practices and have robust contingency plans for rollback.
Person Specification (What You Will Bring)
Required Experience:

Testing Expertise: Proven experience in producing test scripts, materials, and regression test packs for software services.

Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of Active Directory Administration, Azure, and Office365.

Analytical Skills: Ability to identify risks and progress anomalies, providing clear reports to project leads.

Collaborative Spirit: Experience working within a team to implement service improvements and deliver quality-assured products.
Desirable Qualifications (or willingness to work toward):

ISTQB Foundation / SFIA Testing Level 4

ITIL V4 Foundation or Service Transition

CompTIA Tech+ / Certified Agile Tester
Salary, Benefits & Location

Salary: £30,485 + Employer Pension Contribution of £8,831 (28.97%).

Leave: 25 days starting leave (rising to 30) + 8 Bank Holidays + 1 Privilege Day for the King’s Birthday.

Hybrid Working: A non-contractual arrangement where a minimum of 60% of your time is spent in the office.

Flexibility: Standard roles are 37 hours per week; however, part-time applicants (minimum 30 hours) are welcomed.
