Job Summary: Technical Architect – API Automation (Oil & Gas)

Natobotics is seeking a seasoned Technical Architect to lead API automation initiatives within a specialized Oil & Gas context. This 11-month contract offers a high-level opportunity to design and implement robust testing frameworks in a hybrid London environment. You will join a technical team where your expertise in architectural design and quality assurance will directly influence the integrity of critical software systems used in the energy sector.


Requirements and Skills

  • 8+ years’ experience of API Automation Testing using Rest Assured, Postman

  • Design, develop automation frameworks for APIs.

  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.

  • Ensure API testing is integrated with software build and deployment processes.

  • Knowledge on CI/CD pipeline tools (Jenkins, maven) and their integration with version control tools like GitHub etc.

  • Ability to manage E2E automation, conducting POC, feasibility checks.

  • Ability to generate and create reporting and dashboard.

  • Should processes excellent communication and articulation skills.

  • Should have good understanding of database testing

  • Sound understanding of Behavioral driven frameworks using Specflow/Cucumber.

  • Validate that API endpoints send and retrieve data as expected.

  • Identify, record, document, and track bugs to resolution.

  • Perform thorough automated regression testing when bugs are resolved.

  • Oil & Gas domain expertise is required.


Role Overview

As a Technical Architect, you will take ownership of the API automation landscape, from conducting initial feasibility checks and Proof of Concepts to managing end-to-end automation lifecycles. Your role is pivotal in integrating testing into CI/CD pipelines via Jenkins and Maven, ensuring that API endpoints are validated against complex database requirements and industry-specific data standards. Beyond technical execution, you will be responsible for creating high-level reporting dashboards and collaborating across development teams to maintain rigorous regression standards and bug resolution protocols.
