Arcadis is seeking a visionary Senior Technical Leader in Energy Storage to join our global team of 36,000 professionals. As the world transitions toward renewable energy, this role is critical in driving the delivery of large-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), hydrogen, and pumped hydro projects. You will be responsible for pioneering sustainable engineering solutions that stabilize power grids and improve the quality of life globally. This is a high-level consultancy and leadership role designed for an expert who can combine deep technical mastery with executive-level client relationship management.
Qualifications & Experience

Significant knowledge and track record in an Energy Storage engineering role.
-
A first degree in an Electrical Engineering, Energy Storage or Renewable Energy discipline.
-
Membership of a professional engineering body e.g., the IET.
-
Chartered Engineering status with an appropriate professional engineering body, or the ability to achieve this in future.
-
Significant knowledge and track record in the development and delivery of Energy Storage projects and a good knowledge and understanding of the types of problems likely to be presented during the delivery of these.

Significant knowledge and a demonstrable track record of supporting clients during project delivery.
-
Demonstrable experience in the delivery of Energy Storage projects and their associated grid connections.

Detailed understanding of embedding Energy Storage in both transmission and distribution networks, including associated plant and equipment, their manufacture, testing, delivery, commissioning and implementation.

The ability to identify the limits of both their personal knowledge and the limits of their team’s skill and knowledge.

In this senior capacity, you will lead the technical evolution of our Energy Storage capability, overseeing complex projects from initial tendering to final commissioning. Your role involves managing executive-level client relationships, providing independent technical reviews for major projects, and mentoring the next generation of engineering talent. You will be expected to stay at the cutting edge of industry legislation and technological advancements, representing Arcadis at a national level through publications and technical committees. By integrating “Safe by Design” principles and sustainable development best practices, you will help Arcadis deliver a lasting legacy of resilient and green energy infrastructure.
