Job Description

About The School
Uddingston Grammar School has served the communities of Uddingston, Bothwell, Viewpark, Tannochside and Cambuslang since about 1864 in one guise or another. We are a fully 6 year comprehensive school, also home of the South Lanarkshire Visually Impaired Secondary Service. Our catchment area crosses into North Lanarkshire Council. We are part of the Uddingston Learning Community, comprising feeder primary partners and early years services.
The school has a roll of around 1380 young people, expected to rise to over 1400. The school employs around 100 teaching staff, including specialist teaching staff in Visual Impairment.
South Lanarkshire Council schools have undergone an £800m+ modernisation programme to create high-quality additional support needs and primary and secondary provision fit for the twenty-first century.
It is our mission to make meaningful positive changes in the lives of young people and provide an exceptional learning and working environment.
You will assist in delivering the curriculum and contribute to whole school initiatives as outlined in Annexe B of “A Teaching Profession for the 21st Century”.

Teacher Salary
In line with Teachers’ Conditions of Service, your salary may be recalculated to reflect pay accrual. Further information can be obtained from the Scottish Negotiating Committee for Teachers’ website.
