Colfe’s School is seeking an enthusiastic and inspiring Teacher of History to join our successful and friendly department in September 2026. As one of London’s oldest schools, we balance a rich heritage with a forward-thinking approach to education. We are looking for a candidate who can deliver high-quality lessons across all key stages, from the foundations of medieval history in Year 7 to advanced scholarship at A-Level. The Role & Curriculum

Academic Range: Teach History from Key Stage 3 through to Key Stage 5 (A-Level).

GCSE (AQA): Deliver engaging units including Germany (1890–1945), the Cold War (1945–1972), Elizabeth I, and “Power and the People.”

A-Level (OCR): Lead advanced study in Britain (1930–1997), the French Revolution and Napoleon, and Russia and its Rulers (1855–1964).

KS3 Breadth: Contribute to a diverse curriculum spanning 1066 to the Cold War, including modern case studies on the British Civil Rights movement.

Higher Education Prep: Motivate and mentor high-potential pupils, including those preparing for Oxford and Cambridge applications.
Key Responsibilities

Outstanding Instruction: Plan and deliver lessons that challenge and inspire pupils across the full ability range.

Enrichment & Trips: Contribute to a busy co-curricular programme, including visits to the Imperial War Museum, the Tower of London, and potential overseas trips to Berlin or France.

Candidate Profile

Academic Background: A relevant degree in History or a related discipline with excellent subject knowledge.

Teaching Quality: A proven (or developing) ability to be an outstanding classroom practitioner.
