Wilmslow High School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and energetic Teacher of Geography to join our dynamic and high-performing department. As a large, 11-18 secondary school with a flourishing Sixth Form, we pride ourselves on a culture of “high challenge, low threat,” where every student is empowered to reach their full potential. This permanent, full-time role is an exceptional opportunity for either an Early Career Teacher (ECT) or an experienced practitioner to work within a research-driven environment that values professional learning and collaborative curriculum design.


About the Role

  • Salary: £32,916 to £51,048 (Main or Upper Pay Range)

  • Start Date: 1st September 2026

  • Key Stages: Delivery across KS3, KS4 (GCSE), and KS5 (A-Level)

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality Geography education that inspires curiosity and a lifelong interest in the subject.

  • Teach a broad curriculum across all key stages, demonstrating strong subject knowledge and professionalism.

  • Contribute to the development of a well-structured, engaging curriculum in collaboration with the Geography team.

  • Use reflective practice to continuously improve teaching standards and student outcomes.

  • Support and challenge students within a high-expectation learning environment to ensure they exceed their goals.

  • Participate in the wider life of the school and help raise the profile of Geography within the community.
