Lead the Way in Languages at a High-Achieving Girls’ School
Carshalton High School for Girls (CHSG) is seeking an enthusiastic Teacher of French for a full-time maternity cover. Following our best-ever exam results in 2025 and an “Outstanding” reputation for progress, we are looking for a linguist who can deliver a knowledge-rich curriculum that inspires a genuine love for French culture and language. As a member of the Girls’ Learning Trust, you will join a school that prioritizes the empowerment of young women and the professional wellbeing of its staff.
The Role & Expectations

Maternity Cover: Fixed-term from 18 May 2026 to 14 May 2027.

Curriculum Delivery: Teach French across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE).

Knowledge-Rich Approach: Focus on high-quality grammar instruction, phonics, and vocabulary retention to ensure students are “exam-ready” and culturally curious.

School Improvement: Contribute to the wider life of the MFL department and the school’s mission to secure positive outcomes for every girl.
