Support Worker – Young People (Part-Time), Central Recruitment Services Ltd, Manchester
Central Recruitment Services Ltd is seeking part-time Support Workers for a national organisation providing care for young people with complex needs in the Greater Manchester area. The roles involve supporting young people facing homelessness, mental health challenges, and substance misuse, with responsibilities to manage behaviours that may present challenges while promoting safety, recovery, and harm minimisation.
Responsibilities
• Provide day-to-day shift support to young people, safeguarding their wellbeing and promoting recovery-focused care
• Work early and late ad hoc shifts across Monday to Sunday
• Support young people with complex needs, including homelessness, poor mental health, and substance misuse
• Deliver care within a strengths-based framework
• Maintain professional boundaries and observe safeguarding procedures
• Promote health, safety, and wellbeing standards
• Record and communicate shift information accurately
• Lone working responsibilities where required
Requirements
• Minimum 12 months’ paid experience working with young people
• Understanding of the needs of individuals experiencing homelessness, mental health challenges, and substance use
• Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and commitment to child/adult protection
• High level of professional boundaries, literacy, numeracy, and IT skills
• Current valid right to work in the UK
• Fully enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply through Central Recruitment)
• Employment/education history for the last 5 years for referencing
• Availability for a minimum of 2 shifts per week across 7 days

• Hourly rate: £13.78 + £1.66 holiday pay = £15.44 per hour
• Part-time, flexible ad hoc shifts
