Position: Assisted Living Partner – Partial Hours

We are searching for part-time staff who align with our principles and possess the background and abilities to assist adults with neurodiversity and cognitive impairments. This involves supporting them within their residences (Assisted Living), helping them reach purposeful employment, and fostering enjoyment and interpersonal connections. We have several openings with varying agreed-upon schedules, so please reach out to chat about availability.

Prior history in assisting adults with cognitive disabilities is preferred, alongside a solid grasp of autism and the requirements of individuals utilizing diverse communication methods, plus a self-assured approach to managing behavior that presents difficulties.

Tiphereth is a Camphill collective situated on the border of the Pentland hills in Edinburgh. We assist adults with cognitive disabilities and neurodiversity through various daytime programs, assisted living, residential services, and social ventures.

Main Duties:

• Cultivate connections with individuals using an individualized strategy rooted in honor and regard for personal identity, promoting autonomy and decision-making

• Deliver communal assistance, as well as individual and dual-operator support.

• Engage constructively with any challenging behavioral responses.

• Deliver assistance and care involving private hygiene duties, secure medication management, helping with safe movement including tool usage, aiding with dining, community events, excursions, and visiting medical appointments.

• Assist individuals in residing in a vibrant setting, overseeing a lease, and establishing a household.

• Distribute and help residents with everyday tidying duties and preserve secure and visually appealing professional and residential spaces

• Assist individuals in engaging as deeply as possible in duties and hobbies that spark interest, building abilities and a feeling of intent and worth

• Function as a primary coordinator for specific individuals, taking a lead in ensuring goals, assistance strategies, and safety evaluations are updated biannually.

• Foster positive connections with relatives, guardians, and additional associated specialists.

• Design, arrange, and lead collective and personal hobbies

• Operate as a productive teammate adhering to set protocols, participating in expert dialogues and a constructive collaborative atmosphere

• Assist residents both indoors and in utilizing exterior areas, helping with horticulture, cultivating food and greenery, and appreciating the environment.
