Manage supplier relationships, ensure raw material quality and compliance, conduct audits, and support cross-functional teams to maintain food safety and standards.

Core Job Information

Role Overview

  • Manage supplier base and ensure quality, safety, and ethical standards of raw materials.

  • Collaborate with Procurement, Technical, and Quality teams to drive supply chain improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain approved supplier list and update specifications.

  • Conduct risk assessments, testing schedules, and supplier audits.

  • Oversee raw material traceability and mass balance.

  • Ensure compliance with HACCP, BRC, and other food safety standards.

  • Support customer technical teams during visits and audits.

  • Address supplier non-conformances and implement quality improvements.

  • Assess supplier ethical compliance through SEDEX framework audits and visits.

Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent in Food Science or related discipline.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in supplier management within the food industry.

  • HACCP Level 3 qualification, BRC compliance experience.

  • Strong audit and risk assessment expertise.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.

  • Valid driving license required.

Work Hours & Location

  • Full-time, Monday to Friday.

  • Hybrid working: 2-3 days on-site (Pontefract).
