Position: Student Success Tutor – Part Time

Shift Rota:

Thursdays: 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Fridays: 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Saturdays: 9:30 AM – 3:30 PM

Sundays: 9:30 AM – 3:30 PM
Role Summary:
The Student Success Tutor (SST) provides academic coaching, proactive support, and holistic guidance to students to improve academic outcomes, attendance, and satisfaction. SSTs also assist in monitoring student progress, liaising with faculty, and directing students to additional resources as needed.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide direct support to students in and outside the classroom to increase outcomes such as attendance, submission rates, and student satisfaction.

Monitor student performance, track academic progress, and maintain records as per GBS policies.

Identify at-risk students and implement interventions proactively.

Support students in workload management, life skills, and organizational skills.

Collaborate with faculty and staff to ensure students receive appropriate support and follow-up.

Signpost students to relevant resources and support services.

Contribute insights and updates during faculty student monitoring meetings.
Requirements:
Essential:
-
Experience in FE (Further Education) or HE (Higher Education) academic coaching.

Background in widening participation programs or experience as a teaching assistant.

Bachelor’s degree.
-
Strong organizational, interpersonal, and conflict management skills.

Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required.
Desirable:

Professionalism in a student-focused service approach.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Team player able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
