Dorset HealthCare is offering an inspiring opportunity for a Registered Mental Health Nurse to join Chine Ward at St Ann’s Hospital in Poole. Our 11-bedded female treatment ward is dedicated to providing high-quality, recovery-focused care for adults, blending a fast-paced environment with a deeply therapeutic approach.


Core Requirements and Skills

  • Registered Nurse (Mental Health).

  • Preceptorship or working towards it.

  • Ability to take charge of a ward/case load regularly.

  • Basic IT skills, normally obtained through practice or practical training.

  • Ability to work with minimum supervision / unsupervised and in a team.

  • Ability to use initiative / Able to positively influence others.

  • Ability to meet contractual requirements and participate in 24 hour care.

  • A level of fitness and ability to participate and complete PMVA, Breakaway training and Manual Handling.

  • Demonstrable skills in written and spoken English.

  • Subject to the provisions of the Equality Act, able to travel using own vehicle on Trust business.

  • Ability to supervise other staff.

  • Supervised experience gained during clinical placements and ability to mentor students.

  • Applicants must have current UK professional registration.

  • Applications from candidates that require current Skilled worker sponsorship are ineligible.
