Job Overview
This part-time Speech and Language Therapist role (0.5–0.6 FTE, term-time) involves assessing, diagnosing, and delivering interventions for pupils with a range of communication needs, including bilingual children and those with complex learning, social, emotional, or behavioural challenges. You will work closely with teachers, SEND staff, and families to embed speech and language support into daily learning.
Responsibilities

Deliver 1:1 and group interventions across speech, language, and communication areas.

Conduct comprehensive assessments and prepare detailed reports.

Support curriculum integration and subject-specific language development.

Contribute to Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP) reviews and set SMART targets.

Provide training and workshops for staff and parents.

Promote social communication, friendships, self-advocacy, and executive function skills.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create a communication-friendly environment.
Requirements & Qualifications

Recognised professional degree in Speech and Language Therapy.

Extensive post-registration experience.

HCPC and RCSLT membership.

Strong knowledge of developmental and complex communication disorders.

Experience in educational settings with children with social communication needs.

Positive, proactive, reflective, and flexible approach.

Ability to perform formal and informal assessments and create therapy plans.

Willingness to undertake positive restrictive handling training if required.
