Requirements and Skills

  • Experience: 5+ years in a customer-facing technical role (Solutions Engineer, Sales Engineer, or similar).

  • SaaS Expertise: Proven track record in the B2B SaaS industry.

  • Cloud Infrastructure: Hands-on experience with AWS, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure, plus a solid understanding of OS (Windows, MacOS, Linux) and cloud application architecture.

  • Programming/Scripting: General knowledge of a scripting language (Python, Ruby, Bash, or JavaScript) with a desire to build these skills further.

  • Environment: Ability to thrive in a startup environment that may lack the rigid structure of larger corporations.

  • Communication: Naturally persuasive with the ability to “dive into the weeds” of technical detail while discussing high-level strategy with executives.

  • Preferred: Prior experience in cybersecurity and familiarity with REST API development.

Role Overview

You will be an integral part of the EMEA Sales team, operating at the intersection of pre-sales (proving technical fit) and post-sales (ensuring successful onboarding). Your mission is to remove any technical friction stopping a customer from adopting Vanta. This involves leading deep-dive technical discussions, supporting trial processes, and building the documentation or product examples needed to close deals. Critically, you will act as a “market sensor,” gathering feedback from prospects to help Vanta’s product team prioritize features that drive revenue.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Ownership: Own the technical relationship with commercial prospects, acting as their primary advisor on integrations and configurations.

  • Sales Support: Work closely with Account Executives to ensure Vanta meets the technical requirements of the prospect’s security goals.

  • Market Feedback: Listen to client pain points and translate them into actionable feedback for the Product and Engineering teams.

  • Resource Creation: Develop product examples, technical documentation, and critical onboarding resources.

  • Program Driving: Identify and implement new programs to improve the transition from a “closed-won” deal to a fully onboarded customer.
