Key Responsibilities

  • Presence & Deterrence: Maintain a highly visible and professional security presence to deter incidents and ensure a calm living environment.

  • Access & Surveillance: Monitor access control points, conduct regular site patrols, and operate CCTV systems to maintain total site integrity.

  • Incident Response: Act as a first responder to site incidents, escalating to the Security Team Leader and completing accurate incident reports and documentation.

  • Safeguarding: Assist with safeguarding referrals and protective measures for vulnerable individuals, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for all.

  • Compliance: Uphold strict standards in line with the AASC contract, Schedule 2 requirements, Health & Safety, and Data Protection (GDPR).

  • Communication: Coordinate effectively with service users, colleagues, and external agencies to ensure operational readiness.


Requirements and Skills

  • Licensing: A current and valid SIA Licence is essential for this role.

  • Compliance: Successful applicants must pass an Enhanced DBS check.

  • Eligibility: Must have the right to work in the UK (this role does not offer sponsorship).

  • Mindset: Proactive, flexible with working hours, and able to maintain strict confidentiality.

  • Technical: Basic IT literacy for incident reporting and surveillance system operation.


About the Role

This is a full-time, permanent position operating on 12-hour shifts over a 48-hour week. The role at Manston is part of a high-profile contract, meaning your work directly supports the welfare and safety of a diverse community of service users.

Beyond the standard “guarding” duties, this position focuses heavily on Safeguarding and Welfare. You will be trained to identify vulnerable individuals and ensure that all protective measures are upheld. In addition to a competitive salary of £35,000pa, the package includes comprehensive benefits such as Westfield Health membership and life cover.
