As a Senior Relationship Manager, you will be at the forefront of our 5-year “Controlled Growth” strategy. You will lead the charge in acquiring and managing a high-value portfolio (clients with £50k+ in assets), acting as the bridge between our Africa-based group network and the sophisticated financial products of the London market. This is a role for an entrepreneurial, RDR-compliant banker who thrives on cross-border complexity and high-touch service.

Strategic Accountabilities

• Origination Excellence: Lead new business acquisition through our specialized Referral Programme, leveraging internal networks from Zenith Group partners across Africa and Europe.

• Portfolio Stewardship: Manage a dedicated portfolio of up to 100 high-value clients, providing bespoke solutions for their investment, banking, and wealth structuring needs.

• Holistic Advisory: Identify wealth and tax planning opportunities, acting as the lead coordinator between clients and our preferred fiduciary, trust, and estate planning partners.

• Cross-Border Trade Synergy: Leverage your knowledge of Africa-UK trade corridors to offer integrated FX, credit, and balance sheet solutions to international clients.

• Governance Leadership: Act as a role model for the FCA’s “Individual Conduct Rules,” ensuring all transactions meet the highest standards of KYC, AML, and client suitability.

Financial Solutions You Will Orchestrate

• Investment Management: Discretionary and advisory portfolio solutions, including niche exposure to Sub-Saharan Africa Eurobonds and Global Investment Funds.

• Specialized Banking: Residential Buy-to-Let mortgages, offshore banking, and multi-currency deposit services.

• Capital Protection: Tailored FX hedging and credit facilities for trade-related working capital.

Job Overview Data

Required Skills & Qualifications

• The Expert: Minimum 5 years of experience in Wealth Management or Private Banking with a focus on HNW individuals.

• Technical Mastery: Full compliance with RDR (Retail Distribution Review) requirements and FCA Statement of Principles.

• Education: Degree-level education is required.

• Language: Professional fluency in English; an understanding of West African business culture is highly advantageous.

• Communication: Ability to articulate complex investment strategies to a diverse range of international stakeholders and internal “onshore” African colleagues.
