Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior HGV Delivery Driver to join their expanding logistics team in Plymouth, Devon, UK . This is a critical role that involves the safe and efficient transportation of goods across various locations. You will be responsible for operating a Class 1 HGV vehicle, ensuring all deliveries are made within scheduled times, and maintaining the highest standards of road safety and customer service. The ideal candidate will possess an in-depth understanding of UK road networks, tachograph regulations, and current driving laws. Responsibilities will include pre-trip vehicle inspections, ensuring load security, accurate completion of delivery notes and logs, reporting any defects or incidents promptly, and liaising with dispatch and warehouse staff to optimize delivery routes. You will also be expected to assist with loading and unloading when required, uphold company policies, and represent our client professionally at all times. A flexible approach to working hours is essential, as this role may involve early starts, late finishes, and occasional overnight stays. We are looking for someone with a strong work ethic, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently. A valid driver CPC card and ADR certification would be highly advantageous. Previous experience in a similar role is paramount, alongside a proven track record of safe driving and punctuality.
