Senior Contracts Manager

A leading UK infrastructure organization is seeking two experienced Senior Contracts Managers to join its Procurement & Commercial function. This is a high-impact opportunity to support a major onshore capital delivery programme within the transmission sector, contributing directly to the growth of national infrastructure. Whether you come from a client-side or contractor-side background, you will be part of a high-performing team working on some of the UK’s most ambitious and strategically significant projects.

About the Role

In this critical position, you will oversee the commercial lifecycle of high-value infrastructure projects ranging from £50m to £500m. Your focus will span both pre-contract negotiations and robust post-contract management, ensuring that contract terms are optimized and cost administration remains transparent and justified. You will lead commercial teams, manage complex change controls and compensation events, and utilize your stakeholder engagement skills to resolve disputes while maintaining the vital working relationships necessary to deliver world-class commercial services.

About You

  • A degree in Quantity Surveying or an equivalent qualification. Progression toward (or membership of) a relevant professional body such as RICS or CICES is strongly preferred.

  • Strong understanding of commercial governance for large capital projects, with experience in commercial, contract, or cost management roles.

  • Experience across estimating, sourcing, budget management, and contract administration.

  • Proven ability to draft, negotiate and interpret commercial contracts, including experience with standard form construction contracts and bespoke arrangements.

  • Experience working with NEC contracts.

Why Join?

This role offers a unique platform to influence major national outcomes while further developing your commercial leadership career. You will benefit from a collaborative environment that values diverse backgrounds—energy sector experience is a plus, but not a requirement. By joining this major transmission programme, you will be at the forefront of the UK’s infrastructure evolution, enjoying the professional growth and security that comes with managing some of the most complex contract arrangements in the country.
