UBDS Digital is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer with deep Azure expertise to join our Cloud and Platform Engineering team in Manchester. In this hands-on leadership role, you will design and implement secure, resilient cloud-native solutions for a diverse portfolio of public and private sector clients. You will be a driving force behind our DevOps maturity, leveraging Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and sophisticated CI/CD pipelines to accelerate digital transformation. Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Design: Architect and manage scalable Azure environments using Terraform or ARM templates.
DevOps Leadership: Build and maintain high-velocity CI/CD pipelines within Azure DevOps.
Security & Compliance: Ensure all platforms meet enterprise governance and security standards, often within regulated or Government settings.
Problem Solving: Act as a technical escalation point to resolve complex issues within cloud environments and deployment pipelines.
Mentorship: Support the growth of junior engineers and contribute to the wider engineering community through documentation and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

Technical Skills:

Azure Mastery: Expertise across compute, networking, storage, identity (Entra ID), and monitoring.
IaC & Automation: Advanced experience with Terraform and scripting (PowerShell, Bash, or Python).
Tooling: Proficient in Azure DevOps (Pipelines, Repos, Artifacts).
Desirable: Familiarity with Docker and AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service).

Experience & Clearance:

Minimum 3 years in DevOps or Cloud Engineering roles.
Security Clearance: Must hold or be eligible for UK Government SC Clearance.
Agile/DevSecOps: Proven track record of delivering in fast-paced, secure agile environments.
