Senior Administrative Coordinator – Probation Service (Aldershot & Basingstoke)
The Probation Service is seeking a highly organized and proactive Senior Administrative Coordinator to lead business support operations in Aldershot or Basingstoke. This is a pivotal role that sits at the intersection of operational delivery and corporate management. You will act as a bridge between senior management and frontline teams, ensuring that the critical infrastructure of the justice system—from data security to health and safety—runs flawlessly. Role Purpose
You will be responsible for coordinating senior administrative activities across a Division, Function, or Cluster. Your mission is to provide effective leadership to a team of Administrative Assistants and Case Administrators while serving as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for estates and health and safety. You will manage the systems that track serious further offences, accidents, and complaints, ensuring the Probation Service meets its statutory obligations with transparency and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Management: Direct line management of administrative staff, including performance management, recruitment, and professional development.

Health, Safety & Estates: Act as the Estates Liaison Officer. You will coordinate fire drills, risk assessments, and repair reporting to ensure a safe environment for staff and visitors.

Information Governance: Serve as the Knowledge and Information Liaison Officer (KILO), advising on Freedom of Information (FOI) requests and ensuring strict data protection compliance.

Financial Oversight: Manage local budgets, including Imprest accounts, travel warrants, and purchase orders within agreed procurement frameworks.

Business Systems: Develop and implement recording systems that support operational probation delivery, identifying trends to improve performance.

Pro-Social Modelling: Lead by example, reinforcing positive attitudes and behaviors in line with HMPPS values.
