Key Responsibilities

• Targeted Support: Provide dedicated 1:1 and small group assistance to pupils with specific Special Educational Needs.

• Specialist Care: Support children with a variety of needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) requirements.

• Curriculum Adaptation: Assist the class teacher in implementing and delivering tailored learning activities designed to meet individual Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).

• Environment Building: Actively promote a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment where every child feels valued and supported.

Requirements

• Experience: Previous experience working as a SEN Teaching Assistant or supporting children with SEN is essential.

• Knowledge: A strong, practical understanding of a range of special educational needs and the barriers to learning they present.

• Mindset: A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to student engagement and de-escalation.

• Collaboration: The ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary school team.
