What’s involved?

The role of a school caretaker is dynamic and rewarding. Typical tasks include:

• Locking and unlocking the site

• Performing security and perimeter checks

• Managing deliveries and moving equipment

• Setting up meeting rooms and event spaces

• Conducting fire safety and compliance checks

• Liaising with external contractors

• Carrying out basic repairs and maintenance

• Supervising cleaning staff

Mileage

• Outside Greater London: 30p per mile for travel over 10 miles from home

• Greater London: 45p per mile for all travel
