Renal Dietetic Clinical Support Worker (Band 3)
The Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh is seeking a motivated Dietetic Support Worker to join the Renal Dietetic Team. This permanent, full-time role offers a unique opportunity to work across diverse clinical settings, including renal and vascular wards, the dialysis unit, and specialist transplant services. You will be an integral part of a multi-disciplinary team dedicated to improving patient outcomes through nutritional support, contributing to both the Renal and Acute Adult Dietetic departments.
Core Responsibilities

Clinical Review: Conduct patient reviews for those with renal and vascular conditions under the delegation and supervision of Registered Dietitians.

Specialist Service Support: Assist with the islet (diabetes) and renal transplant services, as well as the Department of Clinical Neurosciences (DCN).

Operational Duties: Manage office-based tasks including answering phones and updating patient records on systems like TRAK.

Resource Management: Take responsibility for stock control and the preparation of orders for specialized nutritional products.

Service Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives and help develop educational resources for patients and staff.

Commitment to Patient Care: A passion for supporting patients through complex nutritional challenges in an acute hospital environment.

Technical Literacy: Proficiency in using healthcare IT systems (e.g., TRAK) and general office software.

Organizational Skills: Ability to manage stock, prioritize delegated clinical tasks, and maintain accurate records.

Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills for interacting with patients, families, and a wide variety of healthcare professionals.

Vetting: Must have or be willing to obtain a satisfactory PVG Scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland.
