Intro

The National Autistic Society is seeking a mission-driven Registered Locality Manager to lead a cluster of specialist services in the Gravesend area (Overcliffe, Sands, and Pelham). This is a high-impact leadership role within the South East Region, ideal for someone who is passionate about creating a world that works for autistic people. You will join a supportive community dedicated to fostering independence and delivering person-centred care in an environment where staff wellbeing and professional development are top priorities.

What You’ll Do

  • Service Leadership: Manage the day-to-day operations of a cluster of services, ensuring they remain safe, compliant, and person-centred.

  • Frontline Coaching: Guide and mentor frontline leaders to embed best practices and drive transformational change through continuous improvement.

  • Strategic Oversight: Ensure financial sustainability through meticulous resource planning and cost control.

  • Partnership Building: Collaborate with families, commissioners, and advocates to ensure the voices of autistic adults are the central focus of their care.

  • Culture Driving: Foster an inclusive workplace culture that champions engagement and high-quality practice.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven Experience: Background in managing services specifically for autistic adults, individuals with learning disabilities, or those with complex needs.

  • Regulatory Expertise: In-depth knowledge of safeguarding, CQC/regulatory standards, and person-centred planning.

  • Specialist Frameworks: Familiarity with autism-specific frameworks such as SPELL, PBS (Positive Behaviour Support), and TEACCH.

  • Leadership Style: A collaborative, reflective, and proactive approach to leading teams and implementing change.

About the Role

As the Registered Locality Manager, you will be the key driver of quality across your assigned sites. Your role is to bridge the gap between regulatory requirements and the real-world goal of helping autistic individuals live more independently. By utilizing frameworks like Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), you will oversee staff training and service delivery to ensure every interaction is meaningful and effective.

This full-time (35 hours per week) position offers a comprehensive benefits package, including a 33-day holiday allowance, a healthcare cash plan, and access to unique mindfulness and discount schemes. You will be supported by an extensive induction and autism-specific training to ensure you have the tools to succeed in this specialist environment.
