Job Description

Support a warm family in Greater London with childcare and light household duties as either a live‑in au pair or a part‑time nanny. You’ll help care for two happy young children (a 3‑year‑old girl and a 1‑year‑old boy), focusing on routines, safety and play.

Role Overview

This family is looking for a caring, reliable person who loves working with young children and can become a trusted part of daily life. There are two options available:

1. Au Pair (Live‑In) – You’ll receive a double room with ensuite, rent‑free, in exchange for weekday support with drop‑offs, pick‑ups, babysitting and general tidying. You’ll be free to study or work when the children are at nursery/school, with additional paid work provided.
2. Part‑Time Nanny (Live‑Out) – Working roughly 7–9am and 3–7pm, Monday to Friday, you’ll handle morning and afternoon routines: getting the children ready, doing nursery/school runs, feeding and engaging them in age‑appropriate play until parents return.

Key Responsibilities

• Support morning routines: getting children up, dressed and ready for nursery/school
• Handle drop‑offs and pick‑ups safely and on time
• Prepare simple, healthy meals and snacks appropriate for young children
• Engage the children in play, reading and activities suitable for their ages
• Provide attentive supervision, ensuring safety and wellbeing at all times
• Support evening routines, including play, wind‑down time and helping with mealtimes
• Babysit on agreed evenings (mainly for the au pair option)
• Assist with light household tasks linked to the children (tidying toys, clearing up after meals, basic organisation)
• Maintain open, clear communication with the parent about routines, progress and any concerns

Skills and Experience

• Previous experience caring for young children (e.g. babysitting, nanny work, childcare roles or within a family setting)
• Warm, patient and responsible, with a genuine love for working with babies and toddlers
• Reliable and punctual, especially around nursery/school runs and agreed hours
• Confident managing two children, including a 1‑year‑old, on your own at times
• Basic knowledge of child safety, routines and age‑appropriate play
• Good communication skills and a friendly, respectful manner with both children and parents
• Organised and willing to help keep shared spaces tidy
