Quantitative Support Analyst – Discretionary Trading Team | London, UK | Remote

Eka Finance

Job Description

Role Overview

We are seeking a Quantitative Support Analyst to become an integral part of our discretionary trading unit. This position is ideally suited for an early-career professional with a passion for financial markets, data exploration, and creative problem-solving. You will focus on engineering practical, high-impact tools that empower traders to make data-driven decisions in real-time.

Working in a decentralized, remote environment, you will bridge the gap between abstract trading hypotheses and concrete analytical reality. You will collaborate directly with seasoned discretionary traders, translating their market intuition into robust charts, metrics, and interactive platforms. Your contributions will sit at the vital intersection of trading desk operations and quantitative data science.

What You’ll Do

  • Architect and maintain interactive dashboards that provide traders with immediate visibility into market liquidity, active positions, and P&L performance.

  • Interpret qualitative trader “hunches” and transform them into quantitative tests, visual aids, or statistical metrics.

  • Rapidly prototype and refine lightweight signals or analytical frameworks to help traders contextualize market opportunities.

  • Modernize and automate data pipelines to ensure all front-end information is accurate, high-integrity, and refreshed in real-time.

  • Engage in continuous dialogue with the trading desk to iterate on existing tools based on evolving market conditions.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience: Up to 2 years of professional history in a quantitative, data, or analyst capacity—ideally within a trading or investment ecosystem.

  • Education: A Master’s degree in a highly quantitative discipline (Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or Financial Engineering).

  • Technical Skills: Advanced Python proficiency, with a focus on data libraries like Pandas and NumPy. Experience with visualization frameworks such as Plotly, Dash, or Streamlit is highly advantageous.

  • Data Mastery: Proven ability to work with SQL and manage time-series datasets effectively.

  • Soft Skills: Exceptional communication abilities, with the skill to explain technical data insights to non-technical trading partners.

  • Mindset: A self-starting, motivated individual comfortable navigating a fast-paced startup environment from a remote setting.

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience interacting with financial market APIs (eg, Bloomberg, Refinitiv, or crypto exchange APIs).

  • Foundational knowledge of backtesting methodologies or statistical hypothesis testing.

  • A strong aesthetic sense for UI/UX, prioritizing the creation of clean, high-performance dashboards.
