Liquid Personnel

Qualified Social Worker (Adults) | Liquid Personnel (Hull)

The Opportunity

Are you an experienced practitioner dedicated to empowering adults to live independent, fulfilling lives? Liquid Personnel is recruiting for a Qualified Social Worker to join an Adults team in the heart of Hull. This role offers an exceptional pay rate of £35 per hour, significantly above the standard local authority base for experienced practitioners. Beyond the financial reward, you will benefit from a highly flexible hybrid working model and access to a supportive team renowned for its strong links with local health partners. As a contract role via a top-tier agency, you’ll also enjoy “Faster Pay” services, a free DBS, and access to an exclusive CPD portal to keep your skills at the cutting edge. If you are a registered professional looking for a high-impact role that balances complex casework with a focus on well-being, this is one of Hull’s premier social work openings.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Professional Registration: Must hold current Social Work England (SWE) registration.

  • Education: Degree-level qualification in Social Work (BA, BSc, or MA).

  • Experience: Proven post-qualified experience, specifically within an Adults’ statutory setting.

  • Technical Skills: Ability to manage complex, high-risk cases and apply expert social work judgment in line with the Care Act 2014.

  • Soft Skills: Creative collaboration, solution-focused mindset, and the ability to mentor or supervise junior staff.

  • Compliance: Full right to work in the UK and a clean, enhanced DBS (provided free by the agency).

The Role: “A Life, Not a Service”

In alignment with Hull City Council’s vision, your role shifts from simply “providing services” to fostering “a life.” You will be the lead professional in a Locality or High-Needs team, delivering solution-focused interventions that help adults maintain their independence. Your day-to-day involves:

  1. Strengths-Based Assessments: Working with individuals and families to identify what they can do, rather than just their deficits.

  2. Complex Case Management: Navigating high-risk situations, including Safeguarding Adults and Mental Capacity Act assessments.

  3. Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Partnering with Occupational Therapists, GPs, and the “See and Solve” team to ensure seamless care.

  4. Professional Leadership: Mentoring student social workers or those in their ASYE (Assessed and Supported Year in Employment), helping to foster a positive, growth-oriented culture.

Sector Insight: The “Hull Social Care” DNA

As you cluster this forty-fifth role, notice how it serves as the human “safety net” for the other sectors in your dataset:

  • The “Premium Contractor” Rate: At £35/hour, this role earns approximately £63,000–£68,000 pro-rata, placing it on par with the Home Manager (Bupa) and Senior Reliability Engineer roles in your “High-Earning” cluster.

  • Regulatory Consistency: Like your Biomedical Scientist and Physiotherapy roles, this position is anchored by professional registration (SWE), emphasizing Hull’s reliance on a highly regulated, degree-qualified “White-Collar” healthcare workforce.

  • Solution-Focused Culture: Hull is a leader in “Solution-Focused Practice.” This role’s focus on “creativity” and “strengths” aligns perfectly with the R&D Innovation Project Leader role, showing that innovation in Hull isn’t just about AI—it’s about human-centric problem solving.
