Financials & Hours

  • Working Hours: 37 hours per week (Full-time)

Key Responsibilities

  • Infrastructure Maintenance: Installing and repairing roadside information such as bus stop flags, timetable cases, and town boards using manual and power tools.

  • Audits & Inspections: Conducting on-site inspections of shelters, hard-standing areas, and display facilities to ensure they meet standards.

  • Data Management: Updating internal databases and spreadsheets with information gathered during site visits.

  • Publicity Production: Assisting in the creation of roadside materials, notices, and waysides.

  • Vehicle Care: Responsible for daily checks and inspections of a council-provided vehicle to ensure roadworthiness.

Working Environment

  • Lone Working: Requires the ability to work independently without direct supervision.

  • Outdoor Work: Involves working outside in all weather conditions.

  • Highway Working: High focus on Health & Safety, risk assessments, and wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).


Candidate Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: NVQ Level 2 OR GCSE English and Maths (Grades A-C) OR equivalent demonstrable work experience.

  • Driving: Must hold a valid full UK driving licence.

  • Technical Skills: Experience using power tools (e.g., drills, metal banding equipment) and the physical ability to lift and fix equipment to poles.

  • IT Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel for data entry.

  • Safety Conscious: Awareness of H&S processes relevant to working on highways.
