P&S Data Quality Analyst

Phoenix Group

Job Description

Phoenix Group, a FTSE 100 leader in the UK savings and retirement market, is seeking a Data Quality Analyst to join our Strategy and Transformation team. With over 12 million customers across iconic brands like Standard Life and SunLife, we manage a vast data landscape that is critical to our mission of helping people secure a life of possibilities. This role is essential for ensuring that our data is accurate, compliant, and governed effectively to support both regulatory requirements and our transition to a net-zero portfolio by 2050.

Key Requirements

  • Experience: Background in data quality, data governance, or data analysis, ideally within a regulated financial services environment.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools such as Excel, SQL, or Power BI.

  • Governance Tools: Familiarity with industry-standard tools like Collibra, Informatica, or Alation.

  • Communication: Ability to distill complex data insights into clear briefing papers and dashboards for senior stakeholders.

  • Analytical Mindset: High attention to detail with the ability to monitor progress against data governance frameworks and standards.

As a Data Quality Analyst, you will be the guardian of data integrity across our Pensions & Savings business. Your daily responsibilities involve supporting the implementation of data governance frameworks and ensuring strict adherence to internal policies and regulatory standards. You will act as a bridge between Data Owners and Risk colleagues, gathering insights and producing the reporting necessary to track data quality maturity. Beyond simple monitoring, you will develop decision papers and dashboards that empower leaders to make informed, data-driven choices. This role is about more than just numbers; it’s about embedding a culture of technical excellence and transparency across one of the UK’s largest financial institutions.

Data Governance at Phoenix Group

You will work within a sophisticated ecosystem designed to protect our 1 in 5 UK pension holders:

  • Framework Implementation: Aligning business practices with Group Data Governance standards.

  • Metadata Management: Using tools like Collibra to maintain a clear “data dictionary” and lineage for our assets.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring data handling meets the stringent requirements of the financial services sector.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Working cross-functionally to ensure data quality is a shared responsibility across the Strategy and Transformation directorate.

Salary and Benefits

  • Salary: Up to £50,000 dependent on experience.

  • Time Off: 38 days annual leave (including bank holidays).

  • Financial Security: Excellent pension scheme, 12x salary life assurance, and income protection.

  • Health: Private medical cover and discretionary bonus.

  • Flexibility: Access to Phoenix Flex, supporting part-time, job-share, and hybrid working across Edinburgh, Telford, Birmingham, or London.
