Key responsibilities

  • Supporting the Operations Manager and Business Manager with the proposal management process

  • Coordinating the process from start to finish, ensuring submissions are accurate, compliant, and delivered on time

  • Managing documentation, editing, formatting, and quality-checking submissions

  • Liaising with key stakeholders to agree approved supplier lists and ensuring completion of pre-qualification documents

  • Collaborating with key stakeholders to gather information for submissions

  • Co-ordinating and planning client presentations required as part of the process

  • Maintaining and developing the proposal content library (templates, policies, case studies, etc.,)

  • Driving continuous improvement through internal post-submission reviews

  • Maintaining CRM records to track activity

Essential skills & experience

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a bid, proposals, or tendering role

  • Highly detail-oriented with excellent organisation and time management skills

  • Ability to work autonomously and take initiative

  • Calm under pressure, flexible, and able to meet tight deadlines

  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Confident collaborating with internal & external stakeholders

Desirable skills & experience

  • A background in procurement or foodservice

  • Experience with online tender application / submission platforms

  • Experience with CRM systems

About the Role

As our Proposal Manager, you will be the primary engine behind our formal tender submissions, working closely with Business Support Managers and Purchasing Consultants. You will take full ownership of the documentation lifecycle—from managing pre-qualification documents to maintaining a high-quality content library of case studies and policies. This role demands a mix of creative storytelling and rigorous quality control, ensuring every pitch we deliver is persuasive and compliant. Beyond the writing, you will act as a project coordinator, planning client presentations and running post-submission reviews to ensure our win rates continue to climb as we scale our operations.

Compensation & Working Model

Feature Details
Salary £40,000 per annum
Location Wakefield (Hybrid: Min. 2 days office-based)
Schedule Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts (between 8am – 5pm)
Holiday 33 Days paid holiday
