Job Description
Join OEG’s Subsea Division as a Project Engineer and take ownership of complex offshore energy projects from tender through offshore execution. You’ll translate client requirements into safe, efficient engineering solutions that keep schedules on track and ensure subsea deliverables are fully fit for purpose.
Role Overview
Based from OEG’s Liverpool hub on a hybrid pattern, you will provide engineering leadership across assigned subsea projects and tenders. You’ll review and develop technical documentation, coordinate procurement and fabrication inputs, support offshore construction and maintain accurate “as‑built” records, all within robust safety and quality frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Review technical documentation during tender and contract award, highlighting gaps, changes and risks
- Support tendering with method input, clarifications and engineering deliverables
- Lead project kick‑off engineering sessions, ensuring clear understanding of scope and client requirements
- Coordinate preparation of scopes, procedures, drawings and sketches for procurement, fabrication and installation
- Interface with document control for MDR management, action tracking and schedule alignment
- Present offshore construction methods at risk reviews and third‑party sessions
- Act as technical focal point during offshore construction and inspection, resolving engineering queries
- Review deck layouts and lifting plans to confirm safe, efficient operations
- Brief vessel crews and offshore teams on project requirements, safety and quality witness points
- Manage offshore construction schedule elements, maintaining accurate “as‑built” documentation
- Capture and document engineering lessons learned, providing balanced feedback on performance
- Ensure all project engineering activities comply with OEG’s BMS processes and procedures
- Check Daily Progress Reports for technical accuracy before issue
Skills and Experience
- Strong attention to detail with diligent, structured working methods
- Effective communicator, able to collaborate across clients, vessels, subcontractors and internal teams
- Confident consolidating technical input from multiple stakeholders into clear plans and documents
- Proficient in design tools (including CAD) and standard IT applications (Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Adobe)
- Team‑oriented, adaptable, proactive and comfortable working to offshore project timescales
- Working knowledge of subsea and topside installation techniques, rigging, sea fastening, fabrication methods and general subsea construction practices
- Strong self‑management and ownership of assigned work scopes
Qualifications
- Degree in a relevant engineering discipline, or equivalent industry experience
- Current Topside Medical certification (preferred)
- Offshore Survival and Firefighting certification (preferred)
