We now have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Accounts Assistants to work join our High Street and Travel Financial Accounting team. The role will be based at our High Street Head Office in Swindon and we are looking for a talented, dynamic individual to join us.

As a Processing Clerk at WHSmith, you’ll be a key part of our Accounts Payable team – ensuring our financial processes run smoothly and efficiently. This is an ideal role for someone with finance admin or AP experience who thrives in a fast-paced, supportive environment or for someone looking for an entry point into a career in finance.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Accurately entering invoices and credit notes into the AP system

• Matching invoices to purchase orders and raising queries on discrepancies

• Ensuring correct authorisation is obtained for invoices without orders

• Reconciling supplier statements to ensure timely, accurate payments

• Handling supplier payment queries professionally and efficiently

• Supporting the wider team with ad-hoc finance tasks

What We’re Looking For:

• Previous experience in Accounts Payable or a similar finance role

• High attention to detail and a strong sense of ownership

• Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills

• Analytical and confident working with numbers

• A proactive team player who isn’t afraid to ask questions

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Excel skills (VLOOKUP experience is a big plus!)
