About the Role

A leading UK digital consultancy, recognised as a Times Top 100 Company, is looking for a Principal Delivery Manager to lead strategic delivery across central and local government digital programmes. You’ll oversee multi-disciplinary teams delivering high-impact, user-centred services that improve outcomes for citizens and modernise public service operations.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead end-to-end delivery of complex government programmes in line with GDS and Agile governance
• Shape delivery strategies, roadmaps and milestones across multiple workstreams
• Engage with senior stakeholders – CDOs, Programme Directors, policy and service owners
• Coach and mentor Delivery Managers, ensuring high-performing, empowered teams
• Embed Agile delivery practices, service standards, risk management and continuous improvement
• Ensure compliance with GDS Service Standards, accessibility, security and procurement frameworks (e.g. DOS, G-Cloud)

What You’ll Bring
• Proven experience as a Programme / Delivery Lead or Principal Delivery Manager in central or local government
• Strong knowledge of GDS, Agile delivery, service design and digital governance
• Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams (engineering, design, product, policy)
• Confident working with senior civil servants and shaping delivery strategy at programme level
• Able to manage budgets, risks, dependencies and supplier relationships
