Primary Teacher (English) – Potential Vacancy

College Francais Bilingue de Londres

Job Description

Bilingual Excellence in a Historic London Setting

The Collège Français Bilingue de Londres (CFBL) is an Ofsted “Outstanding” school located in a beautiful Victorian building in the heart of London. We provide a unique bilingual education to 700 students, blending an enhanced French National Curriculum with a robust English programme. We are looking for a dedicated Primary Teacher (English) to join our multicultural team. This is an ideal role for an innovative educator who thrives in a collaborative, international environment and is passionate about preparing students for global academic pathways.

The Role & Co-Teaching Model

  • Collaborative Teaching: You will work in a “binôme” (partnership) with a French-speaking teacher. You will teach the English component of the curriculum to two primary classes at the same level (splitting your time 50/50 between them).

  • Curriculum Fusion: Plan and deliver schemes of work that align with the French National Curriculum while integrating British pedagogical best practices.

  • Bilingual Development: Support students in developing high-level fluency, adapting your teaching for a range of profiles including native speakers and beginner English learners.

  • Whole-School Life: Beyond the classroom (26 contact hours), you will contribute to cross-curricular projects, pedagogical meetings, and vibrant community events like Open Mornings and Sports Day.

Who We Are Looking For

  • Qualified Practitioner: Holds QTS (or equivalent) with proven primary teaching experience.

  • Cultural Navigator: While experience with the French system is a bonus, you must be open-minded and eager to work in a bilingual, multicultural context.

  • Adaptive Educator: Confident in using digital tools and tailoring pedagogy for SEND students and EAL (English as an Additional Language) learners.

  • Team Player: Strong interpersonal skills are essential for the daily partnership with your French teaching counterpart and the wider primary team.

Salary & Exceptional Benefits

CFBL provides a highly competitive package designed to support teacher wellbeing and professional growth:

  • Flexible Benefits: An allowance of up to £2,000 per year for transport, travel, or childcare.

  • Health & Security: Private health insurance and life insurance included.

  • Daily Perks: Free, freshly prepared balanced meals on-site and access to Perkbox discounts.

  • Education: Discounted school fees for staff children and access to internal courses (French, Yoga, etc.).

  • Development: Access to a comprehensive annual professional training programme.

Application Requirements

  • Deadline: 15 March 2026.

  • How to Apply: Submit your application form to recruitment@cfbl.org.uk.

  • Right to Work: You must clearly specify your UK work eligibility in your application.

  • Safeguarding: This post is subject to an Enhanced DBS check and verification of professional references.
