Prep School Classics Teacher

Brighton College Prep Kensington

job description

Discover Classical Learning in the Heart of London

Brighton College Prep Kensington is a happy and vibrant independent school for boys and girls aged 2 to 13. As a proud member of the global Cognita family and the prestigious Brighton College network, we offer an ambitious education rooted in confidence, curiosity, and kindness. Located at the doorstep of Exhibition Road, we are uniquely positioned to turn London’s world-class museums into our extended classrooms. We are seeking an inspiring Classics Teacher to join our award-winning team (finalists for London Independent School of the Year 2025) and help us deliver a forward-thinking curriculum that brings the ancient world to life for our inquisitive pupils.

Who We Are Looking For:

  • Enthusiastic and knowledgeable Classics specialist with a relevant degree and QTS (or equivalent).

  • Strong classroom practice, excellent communication skills, and a passion for engaging pupils in the ancient world.

  • Enjoy collaborating with colleagues, contributing to curriculum development, and supporting pupils’ wellbeing within a caring pastoral framework.

  • Experience in independent schools, Latin or Greek teaching, or exam preparation is advantageous but not essential.

Why You’ll Thrive at Brighton College Prep

In this role, you will have the freedom to inspire curiosity about the ancient world through language, mythology, and history. Whether you are teaching Latin to Year 3 or preparing seniors for scholarship assessments, you will be part of a culture that prioritizes both academic excellence and pupil wellbeing. We offer a highly competitive salary, enrolment in the Teachers’ Pension Scheme, and significant professional development opportunities through the Cognita network. Beyond the classroom, you’ll enjoy free term-time lunches, generous holidays, and a collaborative environment where fresh ideas are always welcomed. If you are ready to make the most of our central London setting to enrich classical learning, we look forward to your application.
