Medway Council is offering a compelling 10-month fixed-term opportunity to join the Principal Social Work Team as a Practice Development Lead. About you

You will hold a degree in Social Work – CQSW, DipSW or equivalent and be registered with Social Work England

You will have demonstrable experience in relationship and strengths-based practice, working collaboratively with children, young people and families

You will have experience in quality assurance (ie. audits)

Experience supporting the learning of others (PEPs) and facilitating training are desirable
About the Role
As one of seven Practice Development Leads, you will serve as a technical and professional anchor for the Mosaic practice area. Your work will bridge the gap between frontline social work and high-level quality assurance, involving everything from conducting audits to facilitating in-house training and mentoring students. You will be instrumental in implementing the “Signs of Safety” framework and elevating the voices of young people through participation strategies. By providing 1:1 support and promoting staff wellbeing, you will play a key role in workforce retention and the continuous evolution of social work excellence within Medway’s Children’s Services.
