Suitable candidates will come from a heavy engineering background – ideally ship repair, oil and gas or offshore.
You will be responsible for carrying out fabrication tasks to a high standard of safety, accuracy, and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
• Read, interpret, and work from complex engineering drawings and specifications
• Fabricate, assemble, and install structural steelwork and components to required tolerances
• Cut, shape, and prepare materials using a variety of hand and power tools
• Carry out plating, fitting, and welding operations as required
• Ensure work is completed to the highest safety and quality standards
• Work independently and as part of a team to meet project deadlines
• Follow all site safety procedures
Candidate Requirements:
• Time served Apprenticeship or SVQ/NVQ Level 3 in Fabrication
• Previous background in marine, oil & gas or offshore
• Ability to work directly from engineering drawings
• Proven experience in fabrication, plating, and structural steelwork
• Safety conscious with a good knowledge of health & safety regulations
• Ability to work flexibly, including overtime
Rates and hours:
40 hours per week standard, Overtime is available and currently being worked (up to 50-60 hours per week)
PAYE: £17.17/h plus £2.07/h holiday pay (can be accrued or advanced) or Umbrella co/CIS: £23/h
Overtime (x1.5) – PAYE: £25.76/h plus £3.11/h holiday pay or Umbrella/CIS: £34.50/h
