Pipe Welder

Job Description

Step into high-spec engineering projects across Liverpool as a Pipe Welder, using your coded skills to fabricate and install critical pipework to exacting standards. You’ll join a trusted welding team, working on varied sites where safety, precision and productivity truly matter.

Role Overview

You will be responsible for high-quality fabrication, installation and repair of carbon and stainless steel piping systems across multiple sectors. Working from detailed drawings, you’ll deliver clean, reliable welds, contribute to safe site operations and uphold tight project deadlines on a CIS or Umbrella basis.

Key Responsibilities

• Weld and fabricate pipework to coded standards using appropriate processes (e.g. TIG)
• Read, interpret and work from engineering drawings and isometrics
• Fit, tack and align pipework, ensuring correct orientation, tolerances and weld prep
• Work safely to site rules, industry specifications and quality procedures
• Carry out self-checks on weld quality and support any required inspections or NDT
• Collaborate with supervisors, fitters and other trades to keep workpacks on schedule
• Maintain tools, equipment and work areas in a safe, fit-for-purpose condition

Skills and Experience

• Proven experience as a Pipe Welder or Coded TIG Pipe Welder
• Confident working on both carbon steel and stainless steel pipework
• Strong understanding of welding processes, pipefitting techniques and materials
• Able to read and apply engineering drawings and weld symbols accurately
• Valid CCNSG or CSCS card (essential)
• Safety-conscious mindset with strong teamwork and communication skills
• Local to Liverpool and surrounding areas, or able to commute without digs

Pay and Hours

• Engagement: CIS or Umbrella only
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, with regular overtime available
• Basic rate: £26.25 per hour
• Overtime 1: £36.75 per hour
• Overtime 2: £47.25 per hour

Trade Test

All candidates must be able to pass a trade test consisting of a 6G positional butt weld on 2″ diameter pipe in both carbon steel and stainless steel. Only welders confident at this level should apply.
