Pay Rate: £13.00 per hour

Equivalent Salary: £27,000 FTE (Full-Time Equivalent)
Key Responsibilities
-
Specialized Care: Providing support for Kaleb, who has spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy, dystonia, and global development delay.

Medical Support: Managing a gastric tube (G-tube) for feeding and performing suctioning at least twice daily.

Physical Handling: Assisting with transfers and positioning, as Kaleb is unable to weight-bear and has minimal head control.

Equipment Use: Operating specialized seating, standers, and wheelchairs.

Engagement: Encouraging Kaleb to interact with his environment through sensory play (music, flashing lights, bubbles, etc.) and alternative learning.

Emotional Support: Providing comfort and reassurance, particularly during episodes of pain or spasms.
Candidate Requirements

Communication: Ability to interpret and respond to non-verbal communication (cooing and gestures).

Environment: Ability to work independently without direct supervision across two separate households.

Interpersonal: A patient, compassionate, and nurturing personality (Kaleb specifically enjoys cuddles, being talked to, and being rocked).

Clinical Awareness: Understanding of cognitive impairment and the ability to follow a strict individual care and support plan.

Interests: Enjoys books, mirrors, bells, the sound of the hoover, and being tickled.

Family Context: Kaleb has a sister and a half-brother. The PA will be working within a busy, active family dynamic.
