Job Overview
As a part-time SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work mornings only in a Coventry primary school, delivering 1:2 classroom support and targeted interventions for a specific pupil. You will help de-escalate stressful situations, adapt tasks, build trusting relationships and work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to keep lessons on track.
Requirements
• Strong adaptability to respond to changing needs and situations
• Patience, resilience and reliability in a demanding environment
• Strong interpersonal skills to meet one pupil’s specific needs
• Ability to de-escalate stressful situations calmly and consistently
• Previous experience in education or a similar setting
• Able to provide two solid references covering recent experience
Qualifications
• Hold a DBS registered on the Update Service, or be willing to obtain one
• Confident supporting pupils with additional or complex needs
• Passion for learning and showing creativity in your support
• Clear written and verbal communication skills with staff and pupils
