Job Overview
As a Part-Time SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work mornings in a Coventry primary school from January 2026, providing 1:2 support and interventions for a specific pupil. You will help de-escalate challenging situations, adapt learning, follow teacher guidance and nurture positive relationships so lessons can run smoothly and pupils can thrive.
Requirements
• Strong adaptability, patience, resilience and reliability
• Excellent interpersonal skills to meet specific pupil needs
• Previous experience in education or a similar child-facing environment
• Ability to de-escalate stressful situations calmly and professionally
• Right to work in the United Kingdom
• Able to work mornings only, part-time, from January 2026
Qualifications
• Able to provide two solid references covering recent experience
• Hold a DBS registered on the Update Service, or willing to obtain one
• Confident working on a 1:2 basis and supporting classroom learning
• Strong communication skills with pupils, staff and parents where appropriate
